Wanda Fern
Brockman
Feb 5, 1945 — Oct 26, 2022
Wanda Fern Brockman, 77, of Columbia, Missouri gently passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at her home in the arms of her loving daughter.
Memorial services will be held from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Horton Wampler Funeral Home in Park Hills, Missouri followed by an internment of ashes at Parkview Cemetery.
Wanda was born on February 5, 1945, in Bonne Terre, Missouri; the daughter of Sidney Grant and Emma Rebecca (Lea) Gray. Wanda was one of 11 children and attended Desloge High School in Desloge, Missouri.
Wanda was fire and honey, a warm cup of coffee and a shot of whiskey. She was born and raised in the lead belt of southern Missouri where living simply, working hard, laughing harder, sharing openly, and loving on babies was woven into her soul. She loved being outdoors, flower gardening, painting, watching birds, and playing slots. You could often find Wanda's hands dusted with flour as she prepared homemade rolls for family get-togethers, and she'd often be the first one on any dance floor and the last to leave. Nothing meant more to Wanda than spending her life caring for the elderly and raising her children and grandchildren.
Wanda is survived by her five children: Joe Reddick (Mary), Troy Reddick (Tracy), John Reddick (Katie), Rhonda Diestel, and Libby Brockman-Knight (Greg); nine grandchildren: Chris Reddick, Ashley Reddick, Mya Parker, Anthony Reddick, Kaya Knight, Keara Knight, Brendon Knight, Blake Knight, and Sagen Diestel; eleven great-grandchildren: Amara Reddick, Jacob Reddick, Natasha Reddick, Hannah Noel, Alex Reddick, Ali Parker, Jake Parker, Judah Parker, Joshua Parker, Eden Reddick, and Ezekiel Reddick.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings; sisters: Violet (Gray) Perkins, Wilma (Gray) Pogue, Freda (Gray) Keay, Linda (Gray) Winch, Gladys (Gray) Smith, and Helen (Gray) Abrams; brothers: Carl Gray, Paul Gray, James Gray and Willie Gray.
