Timothy L.
Edwards
Apr 16, 1965 — Jan 13, 2022
Timothy Linn Edwards was born on April 16, 1965, in Bonne Terre, Missouri. He passed away suddenly on January 13, 2022, at the age of 56 at his home.
Tim loved life and he loved his family so very much. He stood for truth and law, and he loved America.
He was a policeman with several of the local police stations years ago and only paused his career because of degenerative arthritis or would have still been a police officer to this day. He never stopped caring about the community though and supporting our local police. He was social and truly cared about others and counted so many of you as friends. He was always checking to make sure folks were doing okay, often writing them or calling them and checking on Facebook to see how everyone was doing and sharing your journeys with me. Tim had a huge heart and simply loved being part of this life. As the years went by, he figured out that he loved the Lord and wanted us to all be in Heaven. He stood for the Police Officers, Firefighters, and the EMT's. He stood for Freedom and law and order. There was never a time, no matter where we were, that if Tim saw a policeman or police-woman or a group of them, that he didn't stop and thank them and tell them how important they were to all of us. He believed in them and the love of our local political people who stood for the same things.
We prayed together for many years of you in our community and though Tim didn't always say much on social media, he kept up with y'all and kept me informed so we could pray for each of you as needed. He loved the hustle of life and was talented at so many things. Of course, he loved flipping items for cash and loved his online auction. Tim had been an auctioneer for almost 20 years with a physical auction for 10 years and then an online auction for the remainder and was still willing to do estate sales, even now. We have been very thankful for the wonderful auction folks over the years that helped us get by. Each of you made a difference in our lives and Tim and I truly feel that way. He was also a DJ and enjoyed your events over the years. Tim had such a love for music and for your celebrations and had a true talent for it. He was always so happy to be a part of your memories and thankful that you trusted him to make them good. He had no plans to stop any time soon.
Tim wasn't always in our children's business. Even when I wanted to know what was going on he reminded me that they were all adults and they had to make their own choices and we had to let them. He loved them all so deeply though. He checked on them often, if not daily, and was extremely proud of them. He told me many times "We sure turned out great kids." He cherished every single one of them and loved them with his whole heart and told me that over and over through the years.
Tim leaves six children here. Tim Edwards, our oldest, his wife Sarah along with their daughter Isabella, Amanda Russell and her husband Andy along with their son Joel, Andy Edwards and his wife Tori along with their children Brooklyn and Mavis, Bryan Weaver and his wife Jessica along with their two sons Cooper and Harrison, our youngest Emily Wirtz and her husband Johnny, and Zachary Hedrick and his wife Amanda along with their daughter Rilynn. He loved them all so much and told me daily what he saw on social media from them or talked about on the phone or in texting. He believed in them and knew they were making good choices. Even when he wanted to correct them, he had the wisdom to suggest and not demand. He was more gracious with them and taught me to be as well. His love for them was deeper than they may have ever understood.
Tim also leaves his two brothers and their families and loved them so much. Tim especially close with his brother Jim Edwards and they had become friends over the years, not only brothers. He leaves Jim and his wife Pam along with their children Steve, John, and Jessica and their families and children. He also leaves behind his brother Dan Edwards and his wife Terry and their children D.J. and Heather and their perspective families. He deeply loved his brothers and wanted them to know that he wished he'd had more time with them. He also just adored his many nieces and nephews. Uncle Timmy will always love them. He especially adored our niece, Paige and thought she was just a special girl.
Before he went to Jesus, his Dad and Mom (William) Bill and Helen Edwards preceded him along with his brother Bill (Billy) Edwards. There was never a day that he didn't miss them. We often talked about Heaven and what it would be like when it was our time to go there. He was so happy to know it wasn't over and that he would see them all again one day. He loved them so much. Tim also had grandparents and Aunts and Uncles that went before him that he loved with his whole heart. His stories were filled with his love for all of them. He was so thankful for his family, and we never let them be forgotten by always telling their stories and laughing and crying over them as life played out.
Tim also leaves a whole group of family on my side, the Weaver's. He loved that he was a part of my family as well and loved and respected all of you so much. He thought of you all as such good people and cherished any and all of his relationships with y'all. We had big plans to take our Summers over our future years and once my schooling was over and just visit with y'all and his many cousins across the country.
Tim leaves so many friends and so many of you were just truly in his heart. Please know that. He loved every single connection with y'all and told so many stories to me over the years as he laughed and relived his times with y'all. You were never forgotten even if it had been a while since he talked with you. Y'all mattered to him.
And finally, he leaves me until I join him. I know his heart and the truly good person that he was. I knew the growth and the overcoming and huge love he had for all of us. I'm his wife Shannon Edwards and it was my privilege and honor to get to be married to Tim for almost 24 years and with him for 25 years. I often told him that I was thankful that God gave him to me to love. Other than Jesus, Tim was my everything and we will never fill the void of him. His life showed us grace and true love, the heart of a bear that would do anything to protect his family, and a true best friend to me and companion. He always wanted me to know that he truly loved me and today I'm so thankful that he was always real with me and made sure of that and that we got to share every minute of these years. He will be loved, honored, and cherished this side of Heaven always.
