Rosa Lee
Propst
Jun 16, 1942 — Dec 4, 2025
Rosa Lee Propst met Jesus on December 4th, 2025 at the young well lived age of 83 and though she had no fancy titles, other than Mom, Momma, Grandma Rosie, Aunt Rosie, Squintz, and a couple of others that we won't mention, these sure meant the world to her and she meant the world to us.
She was the queen of sleepovers and millions of movies! She was always up for adventures before her sight became so bad that she felt unsafe. A facial always made for a good day with her favorite girl, Jenn. Mom was a Cardinal fan, especially when they were winning and an avid overly loud Knights/Knightettes cheerleader when her grandkids were on the court/field.
She worked at Federal IGA in the snack bar where she served up many burgers and fries with a squinty smile and if she and Chicken Stricklin closed together, you just might get serenaded over the intercom with a Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn melody!
She loved her Jesus and I cannot even imagine what an amazing view she has now after so many years of her view being so very limited. I have no doubt that my dad was in line behind Jesus to welcome her home and asking, "what took you so long" and her grandsons ready for a big squeeze.
Rosie is survived by her children, Debbie (Dan) Detring, Kevin (Crystal) Propst, and Lori (Donnie) Maurice. She was blessed with grandchildren Kacie Detring, Kourtney Chiarelli, Kelsey Koppeis, Korde (Allie) Detring, Garrett and Bryant Propst, Sarah (Jeremy) Jarvis and Tara (Ryan) West, Erica Barton, and Whitley (Ryan) Perry. These kids then blessed her with Kaleb Detring, Ella (Sweet Miss) and Hudson (Bug) Koppeis, Scarlett (Toodles) Detring, Caden and Owen Jarvis, Avery Holloway and Guinevere West, Taiden and Addison Moses, and Henry and Jolene Perry. Liam Bentley Detring is the finale to her list, being her one and only Great Great Grandchild. Mom was so lucky to have her sister Nancy Leonard by her side especially the past few weeks. She loved her Indiana siblings and the visits we could make happen with Ster (Pam) Eaton, Mel (Linda) Eaton, Wanda (Warren) McConnell, and Frank (Suzanne) Eaton. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and people that she loved, including Kayla Sitze who always made time for a visit when she came home.
Mom was preceded in death by our dad, Carl Lee Propst, her mom and stepdad Blanche and James Amsden, dad and stepmom Melvin and Betty Eaton, brothers Melvin "Mugs" Eaton and Gary Amsden, grandchildren Garrett Propst and Bryant Propst, as well as several other special people.
