Helen Maudeline Barks, 79, passed away October 4, 2023 at Country Meadows in Park Hills, Mo.  She was born December 20, 1943 in Bonne Terre, Mo. to the late John David Barks and Helen Marie Foley.

She was preceded by special friends Ray Blackwell, Don, Georgena Pirtle, Loretta Sue McClain, Donna Faye Roth, Patty Douglas, Brenda McKinney, and Lily Kell.

She was survived by many co-workers and close friends Linda and Terry Nixon, Diana Pullen and fiance' Jerry Haynes, Lisa Crocker, Mary Wiseman, Cathy and Dave Snider, Janice Gamble, McKinney & Douglas family, Regina Webb, Laura and Les Reeves, Robert and Mary Pirtle, Lee Webb, and many others she had worked with at the former Flat River Glass Factory where she retired after 20 plus years.  In addition, she had previously worked at Hecks IGA Store in Farmington, for 17 years.

Ms. Barks enjoyed holiday gatherings, spending time visiting with friends, and being a member of a bowling league for many years. She was an avid jewelry collector, as she loved wearing her rings, watches and necklaces that she had acquired over the years.  Helen also enjoyed time with her pet dog, which she had rescued, and named Blacky.

Visitation Thursday October 12, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. to time of funeral service at 1:00 P.M. at the Horton-Wampler Funeral Home in Park Hills, with Rev. Cleo Reeder.  Burial at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington, Mo.
